Wachusett High School Tutoring Club will have High School students available for tutoring and homework help!Students MUST be pre-registered for the program. This 6-week program is an excellent opportunity to hit the slopes during prime season for a great price! Chaperons will help students get dressed, find buddies and help get them to lessons. They'll be available if students need help or encounter an emergency. They do not individually ski with the students. We welcome volunteers! Please make sure your child has ALL his/her belongings before sending them. Skiers/riders that arrive without proper gear may have to sit out for the day. Chocksett students will leave after school; Houghton students will be dismissed at 3:15pm to get on the bus. 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM    Zumba/Yoga for Kids - Kids Zumba/Yoga, Session III
Each 45 minute class begins with Zumba. Zumba combines Latin inspired upbeat music with simple dance moves to get the children’s hearts pumping. They’ll have so much fun, they won’t even realize they’re getting a terrific cardiovascular workout! Then students unwind with  Yoga, including techniques for breathing, kid-friendly balancing poses, and Shavasana (relaxation time). Children will exercise their bodies and minds in a positive, non-competitive environment...and they will love it!You do not need to enroll in future sessions in advance. We display all sessions for planning purposes. Participants can pay by check, cash, credit card or online. 2018-2019 we cannot accept day-of payment. Are you interested in robotics? We'll take you from the basics of building and movement to advanced navigation, sensors, and teaching the robot how to make decisions for itself! LEGO Mindstorms is a great system to build your robot and then use the drag-and-drop coding software to give the robot commands. This is a great first step for anyone interested in competitive robotics! We’ll learn about multiple types of sensors, how to use the sensors individually and collectively. We’ll wrap up the session with a “Pass the marble” project where everyone’s robot will get to work together as a team to get a marble from a start point to an end point. Presented by The Code Wiz

Join Wicked Cool for Kids for half-days of fun! This science & engineering based company offers half-day programming that covers these topics in exciting and unique ways!  Each afternoon will be different themes. Sterling Rec will meet Wicked Cool Kids at dismissal time and escort them to the Senior Center. We'll take a few minutes for lunch and then jump in to the fun!October 25th: Splat Science: Where science meets art! Create a 3D school of fish while learning about coral reefs and undersea habitats. Learn the parts of a flower as we create beautiful "digital" finger flower paintings and color carnations to take home. January 31st: Grand Prix Derby:Design a balloon powered car and an air powered car for the big race! Create a fold away race track you can take home for supreme racing fun. Test your baloon car design against your air car and see if it can go as fast as some toy cars designed for speed.March 7th: Slime Time 2: Create six new formulas for slime! Keep your slime skills sharp as we make creepy bug slime, fluffy slime, and sweet smelling goop. Finish off with sparkle slime and a few mystery formulas!

Are you interested in robotics? We'll take you from the basics of building and movement to advanced navigation, sensors, and teaching the robot how to make decisions for itself! LEGO Mindstorms is a great system to build your robot and then use the drag-and-drop coding software to give the robot commands. This is a great first step for anyone interested in competitive robotics! We’ll learn about multiple types of sensors, how to use the sensors individually and collectively. We’ll wrap up the session with a “Pass the marble” project where everyone’s robot will get to work together as a team to get a marble from a start point to an end point. Presented by The Code Wiz

Skiers/riders that arrive without proper gear may have to sit out for the day. Chocksett students will leave after school; Houghton students will be dismissed at 3:15pm to get on the bus. Each 45 minute class begins with Zumba. Zumba combines Latin inspired upbeat music with simple dance moves to get the children’s hearts pumping. Then students unwind with  Yoga, including techniques for breathing, kid-friendly balancing poses, and Shavasana (relaxation time). Children will exercise their bodies and minds in a positive, non-competitive environment...and they will love it!You do not need to enroll in future sessions in advance. This program is for students in grades 5-8 at Chocksett Middle School. Students enrolled in the program can stay after school to work in the library on homework or group projects. The goal is to give students the time and environment to successfully finish homework. Sterling Rec will provide the supervision. New for 2018-2019! Wachusett High School Tutoring Club will have High School students available for tutoring and homework help!Students MUST be pre-registered for the program. Parents select the days their students will attend in advance, using the attached form. At this time we can only process paper registration forms & cannot accept online payment. The program is scheduled to run dismissal-5:00pm, but students may be picked up early once their homework is complete. 
 
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM    Music Lessons - Music Lessons
Instrumental music lessons in Flute, Clarinet. Trumpet, Trombone and Saxophone offered to  grade 4 through high school students.  Half hour private lesson $180.00 for six week sessions.  All lessons given by Anne Busby-certified music teacher with many years of experience.  Home Schooled students are welcomed.Lessons are 30 minutes in duration beginning at 4:00pm on Wednesdays. 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM    Cribbage - Cribbage, Session II
Come join us for a fun five or ten weeks of card playing where you can test your basic math skills, draw the perfect hand, and enjoy all the delicious appetizers.  Teams of two will be formed to play six games per night. Prizes awarded at the end of the 5 weeks!
